Ferme Alcide Proulx

In the early 1980s, Alcide Proulx began raising farm animals as well as growing and selling vegetables. Gradually, he purchased more land, enlarged his barn and acquired more equipment. At the end of the ‘80s Proulx bought his father’s remaining cattle and finally took over the farming business.

Incorporated since January 2006, this is mainly a cattle farm with 50 cows, 2 bulls, 46 calves and heifers. The farm also produces berries and vegetables that are sold at the side-road kiosk from July to September. The business presently owns 389 acres and rents over 25 acres of farming land.

The farm provides three people with a decent living: Alcide, the owner, his companion Louise Montmagny and Alcide’s son Guylain whose talent and love for the trade will most certainly bring the youth to carry on his father’s business in the future.
